About the Former Players Association
Our Story
Why have a former players association, to what purpose and how will it work?

This new initiative has two distinct aims
-To reconnect former players and friends with the club
-Provide financial support for the club through fund raising.
The association is not replacing the clubs core funding of existing sponsorship, playing subscriptions and obviously the bar. Nore will it replace the regular events organised by the club. The association will work with and be accountable to the main club committee There are many former players and friends who would willingly support the club if asked and if that were coupled with enjoyable social events all the better. This type of support has waned due to a lack of ownership and will now be focused through the association. It will hopefully gain a momentum and continuity as more former players are encouraged to become part of the association.
The Association will arrange regular lunches and gatherings at the club. Be a focal point to collect annual donations, arrange fundraising social events presenting numerous sponsorship opportunities both personal and corporate.
Fund raising is a key objective of the association, we want to help the club with key projects and capital expenditure together with more targeted support for teams or individuals as needed. There are almost to many equally deserving initiatives to get our teeth into but a few are listed below.
The current club projects/initiatives are. - Conversion of the machinery shed into changing rooms - Scrum machine - Replacement Tractor More targeted – A junior team trip to Dreux (sponsorship and possibly association traveling supporters?) -A hardship Fund to be used at the clubs discretion.
How will the association raise money - Annual donations to the association This can be done in two ways either by PayPal secure payment over the web site of directly into our account Evesham Rugby Former Players Association (our preferred option).

Fund raisers, Social events, ticket sales, raffles, sponsorship ie of a table, Speaker or Music etc We plan to hold several of these events each year and through sponsorship we can re-engage with many of the local business who have historic links with the club.
